Zinedine Zidane is not only one of the greatest footballers of all time, he has also impressed in his coaching career so far, despite only having coached Real Madrid (winning three Champions League titles).

The Frenchman has been without a club since the summer of 2021, when he ended his second spell at Real Madrid. The Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo reports that the former world-class player is only interested in the role of French national coach. He has long been associated with the post and has expressed his interest on several occasions.

This also means that a commitment to Bayern, where Zidane is on the list of candidates, according to the German press, would be quite unlikely in this case. This is also supported by the fact that the former footballer does not speak German or English at a good level.

In that position continues the historic Didier Deschamps, 55 years old. He has been firmly in command of Les Bleus, in office since 2012. He crowned his reign, so far, with the 2018 World Cup title.
