The current president of the PSD district of Coimbra, who was elected for his fourth term, obtained 987 votes, while José Miguel Ramos, who is president of the Miranda do Corvo council and hotel project manager, had 904 votes.

José Miguel Ramos won more votes than his opponent in Miranda do Corvo, Oliveira do Hospital, Cantanhede, Vila Nova de Poiares, Soure, Penela, Góis, Tábua and Lousã, but in the district capital Paulo Leitão was superior by 150 votes (395 against 245).

Lusa tried, without success, to obtain a comment from Paulo Leitão, former deputy and former councilor in the Coimbra City Council.

Paulo Leitão recently told Lusa that the main reason for his re-candidacy was related "to the results obtained" in the 2021 local elections, in which the PSD "regained the leadership of three municipalities [Penacova, Góis and Coimbra, the latter in a coalition] and, in the remaining ones, which are led by the PS, considerably increased in votes and mandates".

Paulo Leitão looks favorably on a re-candidacy of the current mayor of Coimbra, José Manuel Silva, who headed a coalition that brought together PSD, CDS-PP and other parties, as well as the Somos Coimbra movement, whose members were included in the lists through Nós, Cidadãos!.

The elections for the district bodies of the PSD of Coimbra took place today, between 2 pm and 7 pm.

Today, elections were also held for several councils, including that of Coimbra, for which two lists ran, headed by João Francisco Campos and Celeste Amaro.

A source from the party structure told Lusa that the current president, João Francisco Campos, emerged victorious, with 442 votes, having defeated the former regional director of Culture of the Center, Celeste Amaro, who obtained 168 votes.
