Planks vs Crunches. Which is Better for Abs?

When it comes to exercising, what do you think is better for working the abdominal area: planks or crunches? You must have wondered, but is there a better exercise? Two 'personal trainers' reveal the answer.
"Both planks and crunches are effective exercises. However, a plank may be better for overall core stability and posture, while a crunch is better for specifically targeting the abdominal area," says John Bauer.

Still, it doesn't mean you should opt for one or the other. "You don't have to choose one over the other. If you have no limitations, such as back pain, you can do both in your workout, alternating between days," explains Stan Kravchenko.
For example, you can do planks one day and crunches the next, all to allow the muscles to rest.
