The chairman of the Order of Statutory Auditors has already been re-elected
Virgílio Macedo was reelected president of the Official Auditors Association, with over 92% of the votes, and intends to attract young people and reinforce the digital presence of the entity, the Association announced today.

According to the statement released, the reelected president for a second term commits to "evolving and strengthening the profession that is essential for financial transparency and for the country's economic development", adding that his team's priority is to promote initiatives to attract young talents to the profession.
Virgílio Macedo also assumes the purpose of "facing the challenges that affect statutory auditors, such as low fees, the legislative framework and the overload of administrative procedures".
Among the closest objectives of the mandate, "innovation remains a priority", with special emphasis on the adoption of new technologies and the expansion of the Order's digital presence.
"With this new mandate, we reinforce our commitment to protecting the interests of the Portuguese economy and to further elevate the prestige and dignity of our profession and our Order", also states president Virgílio Macedo, quoted in the statement.
