Families' investment in Savings Certificates fell again in March to 33.995 million euros, according to data updated on Monday by the Bank of Portugal (BdP).
In February, it should be recalled, the investment in this financial product was 34.016 million euros, according to the banking supervisor.
It should be recalled that the base interest rate of the 'F series' of savings certificates is 2.5%, while the previous series (which can no longer be subscribed) has an interest rate that can go up to 3.5% - level where it is currently located due to fluctuations in the Euribor.
The BdP also announced that, in the first two months of 2024, the financing of public administrations was 1.4 billion euros, a value that compares with -4.1 billion euros registered in the same period of 2023.
"The financing granted to public administrations from abroad was 6.4 billion euros, mainly through the acquisition of debt securities. On the other hand, public administrations financed banks in 4.9 billion euros, through the reduction of public debt securities and the increase in deposits with the Central Bank", it can also be read.
"An analysis by instrument shows that financing through net bond issues corresponded to 3.6 billion euros. On the other hand, the financing of public administrations through loans deducted from deposits was negative in 2.1 billion euros", it is also mentioned.
