FC Porto wins Clássico and is already 'nipping at the heels' of Sporting

FC Porto keeps alive the hope of becoming the national handball champion, thanks to the triumph achieved at the beginning of Saturday night, in the heart of Dragão Arena, over the eternal rival, Sporting, by 37-35.

The blue and white team entered the field knowing in advance that they had little room for maneuver, in the fight for the title, and imposed themselves from the first moment, in such a way that they reached the break winning, by four goals of advantage. A difference the lions reduced, already in the final stretch.

After the accounts were made, despite this result, Sporting remains in the isolated leadership of the final phase, with 39 points. However, now, it is possible to see the second-placed team, FC Porto, at a distance of just one point.

In the next round, scheduled for Saturday, the dragons will travel to the Pavilhão da Luz, to face Benfica, while the lions will receive ABC, at the Pavilhão João Rocha.
