FPF's CD opens urgent disciplinary proceedings for the Chaves-Estoril match
The Disciplinary Board (DB) of the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) today opened a disciplinary proceeding, of an urgent nature, to the incidents in the match between Desportivo de Chaves and Estoril Praia, of the 30th round of the I League.

"Disciplinary proceedings were instituted, with urgent attribution, against Grupo Desportivo de Chaves -- Futebol SAD, Pedro Miguel da Costa Álvaro, Marcelo Henrique Passos Carné, Nuno Miguel Pereira Diogo, André das Neves Paquete de Oliveira, Tiago Filipe Alves Araújo, Vasco César Freire de Seabra and António Baptista Nobre, by decision of the Professional Section", refers the FPF's CD in a statement.
According to the document, the opening of this process is due to the "factuality contained in the official match reports and the participation presented by Estoril Praia Futebol SAD".
"The process was sent, on April 24, 2024, to the Liga Portugal Instructors Commission, excluding publicity until the end of the investigation", adds the disciplinary body.
In the match referring to the 30th round of the I League, played on Sunday in Chaves, a pitch invasion during the stoppage time resulted in altercations and aggressions between Flavian supporters and Estoril Praia players, with goalkeeper Marcelo Carné and defender Pedro Álvaro being sent off with a straight red card.
After a stoppage of about 20 minutes, the game was resumed, with the home team reaching 2-2 with a goal in the 90+20 minute, through Morim, when forward João Carlos was defending Estoril Praia's goal, due to the goalkeeper's expulsion and at a time when the 'canarinho' emblem had already exhausted its substitutions.
The home team scored first, through João Correia, in the 32nd minute, but the Estoril team managed to turn the game around, with goals from Basso (58) and Fabrício (71), conceding the draw after the match resumed.
