"In my head, I just wanted to play a game for Manchester City"

Phil Foden was the latest guest on the Daily Mail's All Kicking Off podcast, with the episode released on Wednesday. In an excerpt published by the English newspaper, the England international spoke about what it is like to be coached by Pep Guardiola and his Manchester City journey.
"The challenge for me was always to try to break into the first-team and play," Foden said on the podcast. "In my head, I just wanted to play one game for the club and then I could say I've done it. But once I did it, I was like, 'No, I can actually play here. I can live with this.'"
"Now I'm at a stage where I feel like I'm a main part of the team. I feel very comfortable with that." Now, Foden has his eyes set on individual honours. "I'm not going to lie. I want to be the best player in the Premier League this season. I think I've got the ability to do that," he said.
Phil Foden is having the most prolific season of his career, with 22 goals and 11 assists, playing a key role for the Citizens.
