António Morgado takes first professional win at Giro della Romagna
Portuguese cyclist António Morgado (UAE Emirates) won today the Giro della Romagna, in Italy, celebrating his first victory as a professional in the Italian classic.

In his debut year among the 'big boys' of the peloton, the 20-year-old today crowned his successful classics campaign with a triumph at the end of the 196 kilometers between Lugo and Castrocaro Terme e Terra del Sole.
The still current under-23 world vice-champion beat Spaniard Joan Bou (Euskaltel-Euskadi) and Italian Mattia Bais (Polti-Kometa), respectively second and third at the finish line.
The Portuguese rider jumped to the front of the race on the third of five climbs to Bagnolo, just over 30 kilometers from the finish, and stayed in the lead, integrating a group of six units, later reduced to five, that would discuss the victory among themselves.
Morgado is having a dream season, in his debut in the professional peloton, accumulating significant results, such as fifth place in the Tour of Flanders, the best ever result for a Portuguese in the classic that is one of the five 'Monuments' of cycling, or second in the Belgian semi-classic Le Samyn, having also won the youth classification in the Volta ao Algarve, where he was 10th overall.
