FC Porto 'evades' Sporting and Benfica (and not only) on the championship throne

FC Porto returned to winning ways in the national roller hockey championship this Saturday, beating Riba D'Ave (0-3) away from home, taking advantage of Sporting's slip-up to consolidate their lead in the competition.

The Dragons went into the break with a narrow lead, thanks to Gonçalo Alves' solitary goal (0-1), an advantage that would be extended in the second half. The Portuguese international scored again in the 33rd minute and saw Hélder Nunes make it 0-3 shortly after (44').

With this result, FC Porto now have 61 points at the top of the table, while Sporting are second with 57, followed by Oliveirense (55) and Benfica (53) - the latter two still have games to play on matchday 24.
