Manchester City and Real Madrid will discuss, this Tuesday, a place in the semi-finals of the Champions League, at the Etihad, after the first leg of the 'quarters', played at the Santiago Bernabéu, ended in a three-ball draw.

In the usual press conference previewing the meeting with the meringues, the coach of the reigning European champions, Pep Guardiola, praised them, especially due to their long history of success in the millionaire competition. However, he stressed, there is no reason to be "afraid".

"No, I'm not afraid of them. But I respect them a lot. I've faced them several times. I'm not going to say great things about them and give you my opinion. I respect Real Madrid. And if I said I was afraid of them, I would be lying," he said.

"There is a rivalry. We want to win and play well. Sometimes you win, and sometimes you lose. I want us to be the best we can be and to be ourselves," he continued, in statements reproduced by the British television station BBC Sport.

"If we can't be, it doesn't matter, but I'm not afraid of them, and if they beat me, as has happened, several times, we will congratulate them and wish them the best," completed the citizens' coach.
