FC Porto continues to live an authentic 'nightmare' in the current edition of the I League and, this Saturday, did not go beyond a draw against Famalicão (2-2), at the Estádio do Dragão, in a game in which they were losing twice. With so many 'stumbles' - the third in a row in the championship, after the defeats against Estoril and Vitória SC - Sérgio Conceição's team has already suffered a shakeup on the podium, due to the equal points with Sporting de Braga. With five changes in the eleven (in all sectors), the dragons were not exactly happy at the start and it was the Minho emblem that took advantage to put themselves ahead on the scoreboard, with a goal from Jhonder Cádiz, ex-Benfica, in the ninth minute of the match. It is true that the reaction was not long in coming, with an own goal by Youssouf (17'), when he deflected the ball into his own goal with a cross from Francisco Conceição, but Famalicão still managed to put themselves back in front of the scoreboard, before half-time, with Cádiz's brace (45+1') 'freezing' the around 30 thousand fans present in the stands of the Estádio do Dragão. Sérgio Conceição's triple change at half-time 'pushed' FC Porto into a second half with a much more offensive nature and, after some attempts (and even scares), it would be the newcomer Taremi who would ease the damage, by scoring the final 2-2 in the 82nd minute. Until the final whistle, note also the expulsion of Evanilson, due to a header on Mihaj with the game stopped, becoming another 'headache' for Sérgio Conceição in the preparation for the second leg of the 'semi-finals' of the Portuguese Cup, against Vitória SC (after a 1-0 triumph in the first leg), already this Wednesday, in the access to the Jamor final. Let's go to the match notes: Figure This is already the best season of Jhonder Cádiz's career and, even if it wasn't, the performance at Dragão would quickly lead to his best data in a season, since he stood out with two goals. After having responded opportunely to Puma Rodríguez's 'poisonous' cross, with the opening goal in the ninth minute of the match, the Venezuelan international still managed to do the same after a pass from Gustavo Sá, at 45+1', 'freezing' FC Porto. Until the end, he still threatened the hat-trick. Surprise Mehdi Taremi ended up being a surprise not only for his return to goals, but also for the fact that he was Sérgio Conceição's bet (beyond all the controversy since the winter market) throughout the second half, since that was his maximum number of minutes played in an FC Porto game in 2024. The Iranian forward still tried to 'get' a penalty, but the truth is that he managed to score the goal (the final 2-2) when he appeared loose in the penalty area, after a cross from Galeno, at 82 minutes. Even so, it was enough to ease the damage. Disappointment Iván Jaime practically did not appear in this Saturday's game. In the reunion with his former team, the Spanish midfielder returned to the starting lineup about a month and a half after the last time, but ended up adding almost nothing to FC Porto's offensive processes, in addition to the several duels lost at crucial moments. It was not surprising, therefore, that Sérgio Conceição took him off the field at half-time, giving way to other offensive arrows such as Mehdi Taremi and Wenderson Galeno. Coaches Sérgio Conceição decided to promote a 'revolution' in the eleven, compared to what he used in the defeat against Vitória SC (1-2), with five changes, in all sectors, between punishments, injuries and technical options. Faced with the almost zero offensive fluidity, FC Porto's coach realized at half-time that he had to give more support to the attacking men and the entry of Galeno (and even Taremi due to the equalizer goal) was symptomatic of this change, although his bets were not enough for the much-desired 'somersault' on the scoreboard that did not appear. Armando Evangelista had already proven that this Famalicão could be fighting for higher levels, and, in the third game since his arrival, he has two victories and a single draw. The 50-year-old coach was 'forced' to promote two changes in the eleven, due to the punishments of Riccieli and Chiquinho, but never stopped facing the opponent eye to eye, so much so that he was even twice in the lead. The substitutions appeared within the last 25 minutes, strategically, but they did not serve to avoid the draw of FC Porto. Referee Gustavo Correia did not exactly have an easy game, but he mostly decided well in the capital moments of the match. The 32-year-old referee called many fouls, some of which led the public present at the Estádio do Dragão to despair, having gone to his pocket on eight occasions. In addition to seven yellows, Gustavo Correia was peremptory when it came to expelling (well) Evanilson for aggression against Mihaj already in stoppage time.
