Spanish television station Movistar Plus+ announced, in the form of a statement issued through official platforms early this Thursday afternoon, that it has moved to dismiss Germán 'Mono' Burgos.

"In compliance with Movistar Plus+'s internal code of conduct, which includes a zero-tolerance policy for any discriminatory behavior, the platform took action after last night's episode, where one of its collaborators made inappropriate comments about the player Lamine Yamal," it says.

At issue are statements made before the kick-off of the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final between Paris Saint-Germain and Barcelona at the Parc des Princes, which ended in a three-all draw.

"If he doesn't succeed, he can always end up juggling at a traffic light," said the former assistant coach to Diego Simeone at Atlético de Madrid, which led to neither club agreeing to speak to the television station.
