Real Madrid and Manchester City signed, this Tuesday, a draw at three balls, in a "electrifying" match, counting for the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Champions League, in which Erling Haaland "disappeared from the map".

Having done the math, the Norwegian international left the Santiago Bernabéu, in Spain, with a record of only 20 touches on the ball, seven lost possessions, a single shot on goal... and no successful dribbling. Numbers that put him, once again, in the "eye of the hurricane", as far as criticism is concerned.

Rafael van der Vaar, former Dutch international who played for the meringues between 2008 and 2010, commented on the match for the television station Ziggo Sport, and, after the final whistle, did not hide his disappointment with what he saw.

"I thought he was very bad. If Haaland doesn't score, then he's useless. Of course he's fast and works hard, but I think he's really mediocre with the ball. If you're that good and everyone's talking about you, you have to show more," he said.

"It could be a little better. He seemed very clumsy to me today. Now, Manchester City really need a striker who can hold the balls, and he couldn't do it once. He was clearly the worst on the pitch," he added.
