Hurkacz won the Estoril Open but confesses: "I don't feel good on clay"

The first Polish tennis player to win the Estoril Open is Hubert Hurkacz. He beat the Spanish Pedro Martínez in the final, this Sunday, by 6-2, 6-4 and collected the first title on clay in his career, the eighth of the ATP circuit.

"It is definitely a pleasant surprise. Every week we hope to reach the final. This is the first week on clay, the last few days have been very surprising, because I don't feel good on clay, at all, but I have to accept it and adapt myself", he started by saying, in the interview after the victory, on EuroSport.

"I don't know how many tennis players have already managed it, but it is good to be able to win on all surfaces, it is something that makes me very proud. I feel much more confident on clay this year and I feel that my tennis is in good shape", he confessed.

"All tennis players want to win the Grand Slam tournaments and that is also my dream, ever since I was a child. I hope it will be this year. I believe that I can win big titles and I feel that I have the tennis for that. I just have to do it", finished Hurkacz.
