Five weeks after he had introduced António Oliveira, former footballer and coach of the 'dragons' and current shareholder of the 'blue and white' SAD, businessman João Rafael Koehler and orthopedist Marta Massada, the leader announced the promotions of Nuno Namora, 'vice' of the Board of the General Assembly, and Vítor Hugo, member of the basketball department.

This quintet will be flanked by Vítor Baía, former Portuguese international goalkeeper and administrator of SAD, who is the only 'resister' of the current batch of FC Porto vice-presidents, while Adelino Caldeira, Fernando Gomes, Américo Amorim or Paulo Mendes are definitely leaving and Alípio Jorge Fernandes will move to billiards member.

"There was rejuvenation and an acceleration in the path we have to take. It is natural that, sometimes, people get tired. Fernando Gomes had a great job, but he had already told me a year ago that his departure was certain. I had to prepare a new team and, as he left, I took the opportunity to do this in the financial sector. I decided to change everything with a principle of more modernity, greater progress and the same rigor", stressed Pinto da Costa.

Appointed as administrator for the financial area of the 'dragons' in 2014, Fernando Gomes will be succeeded by João Rafael Koehler, in the club's sphere, and José Fernando Figueiredo, economist and senior consultant at the World Bank, within the scope of SAD, if the 'blue and white' president is re-elected for a 16th consecutive term on April 27.

"Unity was an essential and fundamental factor for our victories. The day after the elections, my biggest concern will be that. It will not be difficult to unite us, because I will not think about uniting social networks. They have no face and I don't know how to talk to people who don't have a face. I want to unite the true Porto fans. It's a promise I make to you. We are going to do everything so that we are all united again. Thus, we will be stronger. In four years, we want FC Porto to be even bigger than it is today", he directed.

Lawyer Nuno Namora was chosen to perform functions in the legal area, replacing his counterpart Adelino Caldeira, who had been part of SAD for about 30 years.

António Borges, Eurico Pinto and Luís Fernandes remain as executive members for the handball, roller hockey and swimming departments, respectively, in a cast complemented by Alípio Jorge Fernandes and Rodrigo Barros, new responsible for women's volleyball, whose position of member's ombudsman will be held by Rita Moreira.

José Lourenço Pinto is once again the head of the list for the leadership of the Board of the General Assembly by Pinto da Costa's candidacy, who bet on Ricardo Valente, councilor of the Porto City Council, to succeed Jorge Guimarães in the leadership of the Fiscal and Disciplinary Council, being that Américo Aguiar, cardinal and bishop of Setúbal, was the first element indicated for the Superior Council, the only non-executive 'blue and white' body.

The president of FC Porto is running for the last time in the elections, which will take place at the Estádio do Dragão, and acknowledged the desire to give way to someone with the same passion.

"André Villas-Boas has already said that he is not a candidate in four years. Either he is [elected] now or he goes back to the cars. Whoever it is, will have my support, as long as I feel that he comes to serve FC Porto", he commented, alluding to one of the two opponents in the next suffrage.

The elections of FC Porto's social bodies for the 2024-2028 four-year period are disputed by three candidacies, led by Pinto da Costa (list A), André Villas-Boas (B), former coach of the football team, and Nuno Lobo (C), businessman and professor, also including an independent list to the Superior Council led by Miguel Brás da Cunha (D).
