PSP makes 497 arrests in just one week. 71 weapons were seized

The Public Security Police (PSP) made 467 arrests between April 20 and 26, throughout the national territory.
Of the arrests made, the PSP highlights in a statement 167 for road crimes, including 87 for driving under the influence of alcohol and 80 for lack of legal driving qualifications.
In the same period of time, 71 weapons were seized, according to a statement from the authority.
56 suspects were arrested for drug trafficking, with more than 5,723 individual doses seized. There were also 54 arrests for property crimes, including scams, thefts and robberies.
The PSP also stressed that from April 20 to 26, 13,873 vehicles were inspected, with 3,828 misdemeanor reports being registered. 3,670 alcohol tests were carried out, of which 63 resulted in 63 misdemeanor reports for driving under the influence of alcohol.
30,732 vehicles were also monitored by radar, of which 538 were detected speeding.
Regarding road accidents, 1,030 accidents were recorded, resulting in 347 injuries, 18 of which were serious, and one fatality.
