Another black man died in police custody in the United States, in the city of Canton, in the state of Ohio.

The situation happened on April 18, but it was only known on Wednesday, with the images of the body cameras now being revealed.

The authorities were called to a bar in the North American city after the victim, who was driving a car, crashed into an electricity pole, leaving it unusable. The man, identified as Frank Tyson, 53, then went to a bar.

The images show a woman opening the door to the officers and asking them to remove the man from the premises.

In the presence of the police, Tyson tried to resist arrest and, already handcuffed, shouted "they are trying to kill me" and "call the sheriff", while he was on the ground.

The moment can be seen in the images below, warning Notícias ao Minuto of their violence:

The officers arrested him while he was on the ground, using a knee on his back so that he would not get up and the man said that "he could not breathe". The officers told the man that he was fine, to calm down, and to stop resisting.

According to the press, five minutes passed from the moment Tyson said he could not breathe until the officers checked his health. One of the officers asked if he was calmer now and another replied: "He may be unconscious".

In view of the situation, the police were not sure if they were feeling the man's pulse and began to perform resuscitation maneuvers.

According to the authorities' report released on Friday, doses of Narcan were administered, a medication used to reverse the effects of opioids, namely overdose situations. After the situation at the bar, Tyson was pronounced dead.

To the North American press, a niece of the victim classified the situation as "an absurdity". "It seemed like an eternity until they checked on him," said Jasmine Tyson.

Frank Tyson was released from prison on the 6th of this month after being detained for 24 years for kidnapping and robbery. The Ohio attorney general said the situation is being investigated and it will be determined whether the death was related to the use of force by the officers, who have since been suspended.

"The investigation is active and ongoing," they explained.
