The blades of the famous windmill of the Moulin Rouge, the most famous cabaret in Paris and one of the main attractions of the French capital, fell during the early hours of Thursday, April 25. According to the French press, the causes of the fall are not yet known.

"The Moulin Rouge, in 135 years of history, has experienced many adventures, but it is true that, for the houses, this is the first time that this has happened", said the director of the cabaret, Jean-Victor Clerico.

"Shortly before 2 am, the wings of the mill gave way, fell on the avenue and, fortunately, at that time the avenue was empty of passers-by", he added, stressing that there is no record of injuries.

In addition to the mill blades, the first three letters of a large sign with the name of the cabaret also fell, now reading only 'Lin Rouge'.

According to the French newspaper Le Figaro, the last maintenance to the blades was carried out on March 20, however, the possibility of vandalism was ruled out.

On social network X, the Minister of Culture, Rachida Dati, has already guaranteed that "the Ministry of Culture is alongside the Moulin Rouge so that its special brilliance is restored".
