French President Emmanuel Macron is taking part in a charity football match for the Variétés CF on Wednesday, in favor of hospitalized children. The match is taking place at the Bernard Giroux stadium in Plaisir, on the outskirts of Paris.

In addition to the head of state, there are other well-known personalities who have put on their football boots and entered the field.

Among them are national coach Didier Deschamps, coaches Rudi Garcia and Laurent Blanc and Eden Hazard, as well as Samuel Eto'o, Sonny Anderson and Emmanuel Adebayor.

First Lady Brigitte Macron is also present at the event.

The Variétés CF match raised 57,500 euros that will be donated to the Hospitals Foundation to help hospitalized children, with the traditional giant check brought onto the pitch.
