A stray cat was helped by a team of veterinarians in the Sakhalin Oblast, Russia, in early spring 2021, who noticed that the animal was "thin and unkempt". The following year, the feline returned on its own for its annual 'check-up' - a situation that was repeated in the following two years.

According to the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, in the first year, the animal was taken off the street and taken to the veterinary clinic, where it was given food and water. Then, over the course of two weeks, it was monitored by professionals and was vaccinated and treated for fleas and internal parasites.

As soon as it recovered, it was released and left the place without looking back. The veterinarians thought they would never see it again, until, around the same time the following year, the cat returned to the clinic. Like the previous year, it was fed and cared for until it left the place again.

However, what seemed to be just a happy coincidence, happened again the following year. And again this year. In total, it has been three years that the animal has managed to return to the place that takes care of it.

For the veterinarians, the arrival of the stray cat, always in the first days of April, is like the announcement of spring, says La Repubblica.
