The Kremlin’s warning comes two days after the US House of Representatives approved a $61 billion aid package for Ukraine to counter the Russian invasion. The legislation includes a provision that would allow for the potential transfer of seized Russian assets to Ukraine. The US first floated a plan with the G7 late last year to seize $300 billion in Russian assets. However, the transfer of such assets to Ukraine is far from a done deal, with Western officials citing legal and geopolitical hurdles.
