As barbecue season approaches, aluminium foil trays are a convenient solution. They can help keep your grill cleaner and are generally practical. However, could they be detrimental to your health?
Website Gotowanie spoke to several experts to find out if there are any drawbacks. "There are no clear studies showing that aluminium has a direct and very negative impact on our health," explains Karolina Kowalczyk, a biotechnology specialist.

"There are some findings that it can cause Alzheimer's disease, some changes in the skeletal system, or that it can affect our brain cells, but these are really large amounts of aluminium that are stored in our bodies for a long time," she continues.
Karolina Kowalczyk says that pots, pans, cups, products with salt, sugar and cosmetics can also be a problem. "People don't pay attention to this in everyday life."
"We don't grill a sausage or a chicken all night for three or four hours. It only takes half an hour, sometimes 20 minutes," she continues. She also says that using an aluminium tray outweighs any potential risks that may exist, since there are also risks from smoke and grilling directly over a flame.
