Got a new little pup at home and starting to teach them things? An animal trainer has revealed the very first thing you should teach them.
Taking to her Instagram account, Amelia Steele explained that the best thing to teach them is to come to their name.

"This can be super helpful for everything in general. Obviously we want them to come to us when we need them to pay attention to us but it's also a really good skill to have for foundation training."
A simple way to start is to throw a piece of food on the floor and say your dog's name. When they go to it, follow up with a 'good boy/girl' and their name.
You should repeat this so they start to associate their name with good things - and it will also get their attention.
