Habits most PTs swear by:
- Don’t overdo it as this can have the opposite effect to the one you’re after and lead to strains, sprains and even stress fractures.
- Strength train as well as doing cardio. It will make the muscles you use when doing cardio activities like running or swimming stronger, which will make you less likely to get injured.
- Rest is essential for getting fitter. Rest days allow your muscles to recover and repair themselves, so they come back stronger than before.
