Euro climbs and reaches $1.07
The euro rose to $1.07 today after data showed that business activity in the euro zone continued to expand in April.

At 5:55 p.m. (Lisbon time), the euro was trading at 1.0700 dollars, when on Monday it was trading at 1.0648 dollars.
The European Central Bank (ECB) set the euro exchange rate at 1.0674 dollars.
Business activity in the eurozone increased in April for the second consecutive month, after nine months of "constant decline", although the expansion was "modest" and is "well below" the rate observed a year ago, it was announced today.
The advance of the PMI index of activity in the eurozone of the Hamburg Commercial Bank (HCOB), prepared by S&P Global and published today, is at 51.4 points in April, the highest value in eleven months, 1.1 points more than in March (50.3 points) and above 50 points, which separates growth from contraction.
The European currency traded between 1.0640 and 1.0709 dollars.
