PepsiCo profit rises 5.6% to $1.9 billion in first quarter
The multinational PepsiCo obtained a profit of around 2,042 million dollars (around 1,900 million euros) in the first quarter, 5.6% more than a year ago, the company reported today in a statement.

The chairman and CEO of the beverage and snack company, Ramón Laguarta, highlighted in a statement that despite the withdrawal of certain products from Quaker Foods North America, revenues continued to grow.
In the quarter, PepsiCo's revenue reached 18,250 million dollars, above what was expected and an increase of 2.3% compared to what it had achieved in the same period of 2023.
Earnings per share rose to 1.48 dollars, when it had been 1.40 dollars in the first three months of 2023.
The company recorded sales growth of 11% in the Asia-Pacific region and sales growth of 10% in Europe.
