Roger Schmidt refused to address the criticism he was targeted with on Saturday, during the triumph won by Benfica in the home game against Sporting de Braga, 3-1, which was even interrupted due to the throwing of flares onto the pitch.
"To be honest, I have already spoken too much about this subject in recent press conferences. Today I want to talk about the fans who were important in supporting us and the important thing is that we won. We probably won't be champions, but we will fight until the end, as we did today against a great opponent", he said. When asked about the outcome he will be 'rooting' for in the long-awaited Clássico of the 31st round of the I League, which will put FC Porto and Sporting face to face at the Estádio do Dragão, the coach of the reds did not hesitate to answer. "Tomorrow, of course we want FC Porto to win, because Benfica is behind Sporting", he added, in the press conference that followed the victory of the eagles.
