Roger Schmidt took advantage of this Friday's press conference previewing the match against Sporting de Braga to repudiate the criticism that Benfica was the target of last weekend after the triumph achieved in the visit to Farense, by 1-3.

"What I said was because they criticized. It is better for the fans to support us than to be at home, obviously. I hope we have a great atmosphere around us. It is very good. It is one of the main reasons that makes us believe that we can be successful. Playing at home has to be an advantage", he began by saying.

"I can understand the criticism, we have to accept that, but there are limits. When they throw things at us, when they spit at players, no... We represent Benfica. We are Benfica. We expect the minimum of respect, considering the basic values. It is not correct", he continued.

"I repeat, respect and honesty. These are basic things in life. We expect that from everyone. We are not winning everything we want, but the players are doing everything for the team. We accept the criticism, but not at the level of what happened in Faro", he added.
