At the end of the game, played on April 12, the fan ran towards Hosseini, being stopped by the police.

The goalkeeper noticed and hugged the young woman, before being taken away by security guards, police and members of the army, in the face of the protest of the fans in the stands who shouted "shame" at the law enforcement officers.

The Islamic Republic of Iran prohibits a man from touching a woman outside the family circle.

The newspaper Khabar Varzeshi reports that the athlete was punished with a one-game suspension and will pay a fine of about 4,400 euros for "misbehaving towards the security agents of the game".

After about 40 years without women in sports venues, in 2019, under pressure from FIFA, women were able to return to football stadiums to watch a national team game: this season is the first to allow female spectators.

Later, in the same game, another young woman received the shirt of an Esteghlal footballer - who was left bare-chested - and then ran euphoric to the small stand reserved for women only.

Neither of the two young women who invaded the venue wore a hijab, which was also difficult to see in the fans who were in the stands.
