De Jong left El Clásico on a stretcher, but still dreams of Euro 2024

Frenkie de Jong suffered a serious injury to his right ankle on Sunday night, which forced him to leave El Clásico at the Santiago Bernabéu, in which Barcelona lost to Real Madrid (2-3), on a stretcher. The Blaugranas confirmed the injury of the Dutch international midfielder on Monday, but refused to give an estimate of the time he will be out.

Even so, Catalan newspapers such as Mundo Deportivo and SPORT guarantee that De Jong will not play again this season with the Barcelona shirt, but that he may still recover in time to represent the Netherlands at Euro 2024, which starts in June.

It should be noted that De Jong had already been injured this season, also with ankle problems, between March and April.
