Danny Murphy, a former England international who played for clubs including Liverpool, Tottenham and Fulham, has been left raving about Cole Palmer after his hat-trick in Chelsea's 6-0 win over Everton on Monday.
The 21-year-old forward now has 23 goals and 13 assists in 38 games since joining from Manchester City in a deal worth around £45million. And the pundit believes it is a deal that should never have happened, telling talkSPORT: "We give Pep Guardiola credit for so much that he's done in the game, but he's got this one wrong. Pep's made a mistake selling that boy (...). I've been so impressed with him, his temperament. If I was Gareth [Southgate], I'd be playing him."
"I'd play Bellingham and Rice, with Palmer at No.10. Foden and Saka on the flanks, and Kane up front, and just let hell loose," he added.
