Saudi newspaper Arriyadiyah revealed this Monday that Cristiano Ronaldo has already presented his version of the facts, after the controversial expulsion in the semifinal of the Saudi Super Cup between Al Nassr and Al Hilal, managed by Jorge Jesus and Rúben Neves.

The Portuguese international sent his response to the Disciplinary Committee of the Saudi Arabian league on Sunday. According to the publication, the captain of Al Nassr stated in his testimony that "the red card was not deserved" and that "it should not constitute shameful behavior". Cristiano Ronaldo considered that the expulsion was unfair, since he was "fighting for the ball and trying to play it quickly". This is a reaction that is in line with the one sent by Al Nassr to the Disciplinary and Ethics Committee of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, in which it is specified that the red card was not deserved and that Cristiano Ronaldo's attitude towards the opponent was not shameful. It should be noted that the disciplinary regulations of the Saudi Federation punish the player who commits "shameful behavior" with a two-match suspension and a fine of 20,000 Saudi riyals (five thousand euros).
