Sérgio Conceição accused of "using Barcelona": "It doesn't have the DNA"

Spanish newspaper Sport published an extensive article this Wednesday, in which it points the finger at Sérgio Conceição, accusing him of "using" the club "to self-promote and put himself on the market as a suitable candidate to coach one of the great centers of European football".

The publication assures that, despite having been pointed out by the sports press as a serious candidate to succeed Xavi Hernández (who has already made public the decision to leave Camp Nou at the end of this season), he was never discussed as a hypothesis within the board led by Joan Laporta.

"The reality", it can be read, "indicates that Sérgio Conceição, who ends his contract with FC Porto on June 30th, never entered any short-list of future hypotheses drawn up from within the Catalan entity".

"No member, neither of the sports management, nor of the technical secretariat, showed the slightest interest in the coach. The reason is clear: he does not have the profile to lead Barcelona, starting with his football arguments (...). He does not have Barcelona DNA", it completed.
