UEFA has reportedly given Real Madrid the 'green light' to close the roof of their renovated Santiago Bernabeu stadium for their eagerly-anticipated Champions League quarter-final first-leg clash with Manchester City.

The news was revealed on Tuesday by British newspaper The Guardian, and comes after a meeting between representatives of Florentino Perez's board, UEFA match delegates and French referee Francois Letexier, who did not raise any objections.

The same publication added that, with this measure, Los Blancos are looking to create a 'hellish' atmosphere, with around 85,000 fans making their voices heard in order to 'push' Carlo Ancelotti's men towards victory.

Kick-off, it should be noted, is scheduled for 20:00 CET on Tuesday. The Spanish and English sides will meet again next Wednesday, April 17, at the same time, at the Etihad Stadium.
