Sandro Raniere gave an interview to the podcast 'Final Cut', an excerpt of which was released on Monday, giving an account of an episode related to Sporting, at the time when Bruno de Carvalho was president, between 2013 and 2018, although he saw his transfer blocked in a kind of... "dirty trick".

"I felt that Bruno de Carvalho wanted to play a dirty trick on me. I didn't like it at all. I had done medical tests and I was already an experienced player. I knew how things worked," began by saying the ex-Tottenham player, before giving more revelations.

"I only did the test on the knee where I had been injured. Just one knee. I asked Frederico Varandas [at the time the club's doctor]: 'The other knee, nothing? Ankle? Don't you want to see anything else?'. He said 'No, just that knee'. I found it very strange," he added next.

"I had that nagging doubt. He sent me away. I was going to Alvalade to sign the contract, halfway there the agent calls me," completed the Brazilian international who, in addition to the Spurs, also played for QPR, West Bromwich, Genoa, Udinese Antalyaspor and, more recently, B SAD.
