Registered accused of robbing and raping a woman in Porto
The Public Prosecutor's Office (MP) has brought charges against a registered suspect of robbing and raping a woman in Porto in October 2023, the Porto Regional Prosecutor's Office (PGRP) reported today.

In a statement published on its website, the PGRP states that the indictment, dated April 19, charges the defendant with the crimes of aggravated robbery, kidnapping and rape, and also requested his conviction as a repeat offender.
The crime occurred on October 11, 2023, in the late afternoon, in the city of Porto, when the victim was preparing to enter her vehicle, parked on the public road.
According to the indictment, cited by the Public Prosecutor's Office, the woman was approached by the defendant who, using a firearm, forced her to get into the vehicle, hand over her wallet and mobile phone and start driving, giving her successive orders for the route to follow.
According to the PGRP, at a certain point during the journey, the defendant took the driver's seat, went to an ATM where he demanded that the victim withdraw and hand over the amount of 250 euros, and then went to another part of the city, where he bought and consumed drugs, always keeping the victim under threat.
"Then, under the pretext of taking the victim to the initial location, remaining at the wheel of the vehicle, he directed her to a motel car park in Gondomar and subjected her to sexual practices; after that, he ended up releasing the victim in the area where he had initially approached her," the same note states.
The PGRP also states that the defendant, who is in preventive detention due to these acts, has a criminal record for crimes of robbery and others, for which he has served two prison sentences and, at the time of the facts, was on parole since May 2023.
