Regarding the maximum support residences (RAMa), the average hospital stay delay in the three years under analysis -- 2020, 2021 and 2023 -- was always over 365 days.

"However, and despite there having been a reduction in the hospital stay time, from 2021 to 2020, in 2022 the number of days increased 130.6%, which corresponds to an average of 911 more days of hospital stay than in 2021", it reads.

In turn, in the moderate support residences (RAMo) it can be seen that the average length of hospital stay showed a reduction of 59.5% compared to 2021, that is, 632 days.

The autonomy training residences (RTA) were the only typology to present, in 2022, an average delay close to the 12 months foreseen.

In the outpatient responses (USO) for adults and children and adolescents, a trend of increase in the duration of the follow-up was observed, compared to the previous year.

The home support teams (EAD), despite also exceeding the 12 months of average follow-up duration foreseen, revealed a slight reduction in time, compared to the year of 2021.

From the analysis of the geographic coverage it can be concluded that in the typology with greater potential access (RAMa), 30.8% of the resident population in mainland Portugal does not have access to a point in the network with hospital stay less than 60 minutes away.

On the other hand, 74.9% of the population does not have access in 30 minutes to an autonomous mental health residence (RA), nor to an autonomy training residence (RTA), 73.9%, to a moderate support residence (RAMo) and 58.8% to a RAMa.

The average length of hospital stay/follow-up in all CCISM typologies, except RTA for adults, is significantly higher than the 12 months that appear as the expected time for each typology.

The ERS still indicates that in 2022, the CCISM network maintained the same number of responses for adults (457) registered in 2021, in hospital stay, outpatient and home units, indicating a trend of stagnation.

According to data from the monitoring of the Health Regulatory Entity (ERS) released today, a similar trend was also verified regarding the number of responses for children and adolescents, but with a reduction from 45 to 37 places.

At the end of 2022, 73 users were waiting for a vacancy for the CCISM of the National Network of Integrated Continuing Care (RNCCI), 12 more than in 2020 and two more than in 2021.

The hospital stay units for mental health care for children and adolescents showed a trend of increase in the average hospital stay delay (59.9%).
