A primary school teacher in the UK has admitted killing her ex-partner.

Fiona Beal, 50, is accused of stabbing to death her then-boyfriend Nicholas Billingham, 42, and burying his body. The killing took place in 2021.

The victim's remains were found four and a half months after he was last seen, Sky News reports.

The woman, from Northampton, was arrested in March 2022 after the body was discovered.

She appeared in court earlier this week and pleaded guilty to manslaughter by reason of diminished responsibility.

Sky News reports that she stabbed him in the neck while he was wearing a blindfold.

A diary was found in which she appeared to confess to the killing.

"Although my actions still haunt me, I have to try to remember what drove me to it," and "It was harder than I thought. Hiding a body is hard work. Carrying a body is a lot harder than it looks on TV," she wrote.

She was found guilty of manslaughter today.
