According to the French news agency, Polish Defense Minister Kosiniak-Kamysz, in an interview on Wednesday night, said that Poland had already expressed its willingness to "help Ukraine ensure that people subject to compulsory military service go to Ukraine".
On Wednesday, the Ukrainian government announced that it would stop issuing passports abroad to Ukrainian men between the ages of 18 and 60, in an attempt to mobilize more soldiers to fight against the Russian army.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kouleba, points out AFP, considered the situation of expatriate men unfair, when their compatriots are dying on the front line.
"I am not at all surprised that the Ukrainian authorities are doing everything they can to send soldiers to the front," Polish Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz told commercial television Polsat, quoted by AFP.
AFP also reports that on Wednesday, after Kyiv's announcement, hundreds of Ukrainians gathered outside a closed passport office in Warsaw.
