Less than two weeks after O.J. Simpson’s death on April 10 at the age of 76, the football star’s memorabilia is already starting to hit the auction block. According to TMZ , collector Jonathan Lepore originally purchased the former athlete’s expired Bank of America business credit card on eBay last summer for $70. Lepore had planned to give it to his father, who was friends with Simpson in the 1980s and early 1990s, but decided to sell it in the wake of the star’s death. As of Tuesday, April 20, the credit card had already received 37 bids and was up to $225 on the auction site Goldin , where the bidding is set to close on April 25. But the price is expected to go up before then. Speaking to TMZ , Goldin founder and CEO Ken Goldin said the card represents a small but significant piece of Simpson’s history. “With O.J.’s recent passing, this card is a small piece of that history, and we expect spirited bidding,” he said.
