New York Stock Exchange rises, attentive to company results
The New York Stock Exchange traded higher today in the early session, extending the gains from the previous session and supported by corporate results.

At 2:55 p.m. (Lisbon time), the Dow Jones index rose 0.42% to 38,400.54 points and the Nasdaq advanced 0.93% to 15,595.40 points.
The broad S&P 500 index gained 0.46% to 5,033.84 points.
In the Dow Jones index, Verizon stood out in the increases (3.01%) after presenting quarterly results above what was expected by the market. At the top of the declines were the oil company Chevron (-0.63) and Boeing (-0.61%).
The price of a barrel of WTI oil from Texas started trading with a 1.14% drop to 80.97 dollars, the lowest price since the beginning of the month.
Since April 5, when it reached 87 dollars, Texas crude has not stopped falling and last week accumulated losses of 3%.
The barrel of Brent oil, a benchmark in Europe, also continues to fall 0.67% to 86.48 dollars.
