Paris Saint-Germain posts astronomical loss last season

Paris Saint-Germain, which features Nuno Mendes, Danilo Pereira, Vitinha and Gonçalo Ramos, lost 109.8 million euros last season. Although the set of clubs in the French first division reduced their losses by more than half, according to the latest report released by the French football regulator.

The 18 Ligue 1 teams lost a total of 273 million during the 2022/23 season, compared to 582 million lost a year earlier, according to the document from the National Directorate of Management Control (DNCG), which analyses the financial health of French football.

PSG recorded a loss of 109.9 million euros and Lyon 99 million, which represents 77% of the losses in the French first division. The Parisian club's losses are much lower than the 368 million euros it lost in the 2021/2022 season.

On the other hand, Lille, led by Paulo Fonseca, ended last season with a profit of 30 million, even more than the 22 million positive it recorded in the 2021/2022 season.
