"Messi could be 80 years old and he would still be the best in MLS"

Giuseppe de Rossi gave an interview to the 'streaming' platform DAZN this Wednesday, in which he did not spare any praise for Lionel Messi, who has scored nine goals and provided five assists in the nine games he has played in an Inter Miami shirt in 2024.
"If you look at him on the pitch, he could be 80 years old and he would still be the best player in the MLS. Everyone loves to watch him because he is the best of all time," began the former Italian international, who played for Real Salt Lake in the United States in 2020.
"The expectations surrounding Messi's arrival in the MLS have nothing to do with his performances on the pitch. It has everything to do with the league's performance off the pitch," continued the now sports commentator.
"It has to do with how much Messi can generate in a short space of time, and I think they got it right. If you look at the television rights and the 'merchandise', it has taken off, everything is going according to plan," he added.
