Official: Sporting "ties up" a promising player who has Cristiano Ronaldo as an idol
Frederico Gomes, 16, signed a professional contract with the Alvalade club.

Sporting announced this Monday, via official press release, that Frederico Gomes, who is only 16 years old, signed his first professional contract.
Recruited from CD Olivais e Moscavide in 2021/22, the young striker was pleased with this new step in his football career.
"Playing for Sporting gives me a sense of pride. [Signing this contract] is something I've been wanting for a long time and now I need to keep working to achieve my next goals. The scouts went to see me play in my home country, Guinea-Bissau, and when I got here I still played for CD Olivais e Moscavide, but then I immediately came to Sporting", explained the player to the official media of the Alvalade club.
Despite being only 16 years old, Frederico Gomes, who has been in the spotlight in the youth team, pointed out Pedro Gonçalves, Cristiano Ronaldo and Morten Hjulmand as his main football references.
"They are players that inspire me. Ronaldo because of his discipline and because he is an example for everyone, Pedro Gonçalves because he scores many goals and Hjulmand because he controls the game well", continued the young player, who says he dreams of "being able to play at the José Alvalade Stadium and reach the highest level."
