Benfica consider returning to Ukraine to sign Otamendi's 'successor'

Benfica have reportedly shown interest in acquiring Bohdan Slyubyk, a 20-year-old central defender who has been standing out playing for Rukh Vynnyky, with two goals in 25 games this season.

The news was released this Monday by the Ukrainian portal Sport, which writes that the management led by Rui Costa sees in the young promise plenty of potential to eventually 'succeed' Nicolás Otamendi, who has just celebrated his 36th birthday and is in the last year of his contract.

The Eastern European market is, moreover, very well known by the managers of the reds, so much so that, in the last two years alone, they went to Shakhtar Donetsk to 'fish' David Neres and Anatoliy Trubin.

The same publication stresses that, however, the Luz club is not alone in this 'race', since Dynamo Kyiv and Shakhtar Donetsk have also been taking notes on the player's development.
