Naby Keita decided, this Sunday, not to travel with the Werder Bremen team for the visit to Bayer Leverkusen, after learning that he would not be a starter at the BayArena. The revelation was made by Clemens Fritz, director of Werder Bremen, before the kick-off in Leverkusen.
"After finding out yesterday that he would not be a starter, Naby decided not to get on the bus and go home. We will talk to him and his representative tomorrow about the consequences of this," said Fritz, quoted by Werder Bremen's official channels.
It is worth remembering that Naby Keita moved to the German club last summer at zero cost, coming from Liverpool. So far, and due to frequent physical problems, he has only played five games with the Werder Bremen jersey.
Fritz zu Keita: „Nachdem Naby gestern erfahren hat, nicht von Beginn an zu spielen, hat er sich entschieden, nicht in den Bus zu steigen, sondern nach Hause zu fahren.
