Massimiliano Allegri's Juventus returned to winning ways. The coach needed to return to victories in Serie A, after four rounds (two defeats and two draws) and more than 40 days, so as not to definitively jeopardize a place in the next Champions League, with Bologna, Roma and Atalanta on their heels.

It was a narrow 1-0 victory, thanks to a goal from the powerful defender Gatti. The former Frosinone player decided, with his fourth goal in Serie A.

The Bianconeri also had three goals disallowed (to McKennie, Vlahovic and Gatti again). There were no goals for Dusan Vlahovic and Federico Chiesa, still without a goal as a Juventus player against the Viola.

Juventus are in third place, with 62 points, while Fiorentina worsen their bad phase and remain with 43 points, in tenth place.
