South Korean military may ban use of iPhones

The South Korean military is considering banning the use of iPhones by soldiers on official premises amid concerns that data stored on the devices could be vulnerable to leaks of sensitive information.
According to The Korea Herald, sources close to the South Korean military said the country’s Air Force headquarters has issued an internal notice banning the use of any device capable of recording voice and that does not allow third-party apps to control inherent functions.
The notice reportedly specifically cites Apple’s iPhone, and the measure will allegedly come into effect on June 1.
