PSD praises Marcelo. "He hailed the main figures in democratic history"
The PSD parliamentary leader praised today the speech by the President of the Republic in parliament for evoking the main figures in the national democratic history and highlighted the appeals for dialogue and the construction of public policies.

Hugo Soares spoke to journalists in parliament, at the end of the solemn session commemorating the 50th anniversary of April 25, after being questioned about the content of the speech delivered by the Head of State, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
"I believe that the President of the Republic gave a very comprehensive speech, in which he hailed the main figures in Portuguese democratic history. I believe he did well, because celebrating the 50th anniversary of April 25 is also celebrating History and honouring those who built it. He did so in a very genuine way, expressing the feeling of all Portuguese people", argued the president of the social-democratic bench.
Hugo Soares also pointed out that the President of the Republic "has repeatedly left a message appealing for dialogue and the construction of public policies that can improve the lives of Portuguese people".
Questioned about Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa's position in favour of reparations for Portugal's colonial past, the leader of the social-democratic bench refused to comment on them.
"Today is the day to comment - and I am not a commentator - on the interventions that took place within the hemicycle in this solemn session", he argued.
Hugo Soares preferred instead to highlight that the PSD, in the solemn session of April 25, in the Assembly of the Republic, "was the only party that gave a voice to an independent citizen, who showed herself to be the example of what is intended in this parliament: Dialogue, openness, modernity and building the future".
For the PSD Parliamentary Group, today, in the solemn session of April 25, its young deputy Ana Gabriela Cabilhas spoke.
